The Golden Hurricane have had six games postponed or canceled this season and had a break as long as 20 days between games, but Thursday night, it’s the other extreme.

Just five days after beating SMU, TU is back in Chapman Stadium to face the Green Wave of Tulane.

In the first half, quarterback Zach Smith headed to the locker room with a rib injury and would not return. Then more bad news as Seth Boomer in for Smith also goes down and is carted off with a knee injury.

Then it’s Davis Brin under center.

Heading into the fourth quarter, TU is down 14-0 and on their third-string quarterback. However, News On 6’s Jonathan Huskey doesn’t call them the Cardiac Cane for nothing.

TU would tie the ball game with a Hail Mary pass and send it into overtime with just six seconds to go.

In the second overtime, TU's Zaven Collins would pick off a pass and run it all the way back for the game-winning pick six.

The Golden Hurricane would pull off yet another comeback, beating the Green Wave 30-24 in the second overtime.
