One person is in custody on Monday morning after police say they fired a gun into the air from the window of a truck while driving down Highway-169 on Sunday night.

According to officers, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Officers said that they had initially believed that a shooter was firing at other vehicles and a large police presence was on the scene.

Officials on the scene said that the shots were fired along Highway-169, but officers were not able to get the truck pulled over until they were near Interstate-244 and South Memorial Drive.

Police said that there were several men inside of the truck and according to police, after speaking with the people inside of the vehicle they determined that the shooter was not firing at other vehicles and was only shooting into the air.

Officers released the remaining passengers and towed the truck from the scene.
