The City of Sand Springs has become one of the latest to pass an ordinance requiring masks for most people.
Starting on Friday, November 28 most people in Sand Springs will need to wear a mask after the city council passed an ordinance in a unanimous agreement on Monday night.

The ordinance declares an emergency in the city and acknowledges a rise in COVID-19 cases. Mask will be required for most everyone with the exception of children under 10-years of age, people exercising outdoors, people inside of a car and people inside of a private home.
According to the language of the ordinance, masks need to be worn at all public spaces, including restaurants, schools and shopping areas.
The ordinance also gives Sand Spring Police the right to enforce the mandate and any penalty will result in a Class A violation.
