Tulsa Public Schools says it will push back the start of the spring semester as COVID-19 cases continue to rise.

The district says it's taking a tiered approach to getting kids back to class. The school board approved the changes last night so the plan is for Pre-K through 3rd graders to return in-person on January 25th. Students with special needs who are receiving tier 3 or 4 services will also return on that day.

Fourth grade and up will come back to class on February 1st. The district says students will be in-person every day except Wednesday, which will be a distance learning day. They say parents will still have the option of keeping their kids in distance learning but that decision needs to be made by January 12th.
