Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Wednesday.

1.EXTENDED MASK MANDATE? The Tulsa City Council will meet Wednesday to discuss extending the city’s mask ordinance. The current ordinance is set to expire at the end of January. That meeting starts at 5 p.m.

2.LATEST DEVELOPMENTS: AARP Oklahoma will host a COVID-19 information Telephone Town Hall with healthcare professionals that will also stream live on Facebook. They will answer questions about the latest developments with the pandemic as well as the vaccine rollout. It starts at 10 a.m.

3.VACCINE PORTAL: The state health department will give an update to Oklahoma’s vaccine distribution plan and online vaccine portal. That virtual press conference starts at 11:30 a.m.

4.ROAD CLOSING: The bridge on North 137th East Avenue over Horsepen Creek just north of Collinsville will be closed starting Wednesday and will remain closed until a new bridge is finished sometime next year.

5.ON THE ICE: The National Hockey League will start its 2021 season. Teams will play a 56-game schedule that finishes in May.

6.GAME TIME: The Tulsa Golden Hurricane will be on the road Wednesday in Wichita, taking on the Shockers. Wichita State won the matchup earlier in the season in Tulsa. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
