In Muskogee Wednesday night, about 60 people sang and prayed for the five children and man who were shot and killed in their home Tuesday. The kids were between the ages of one and nine.
The park outside the Muskogee Civic Center was filled with heavy grief as people honored the loss of those six souls and prayed for the children's mother who is still recovering in the hospital.

Muskogee gave its heart tonight to a family still reeling in pain and to comfort a community struggling with the loss. People lit candles at the vigil and huddled together in song.
Muskogee Mayor Marlon Coleman said it's been tough for his community.
"I can't even describe how I'm feeling," Coleman said. "For me, as the leader of this city as well as the pastor of a church that Brittany and her sisters frequently attended when they were kids - grief would be an understatement."
Just hours earlier the man accused of the killings made his first court appearance on six charges of murder and one additional count of shooting with intent to kill.
