Man Accused Of Beating Dog, Pulling Knife On Stranger Who Tried To Stop Him

Tulsa Police arrested a man accused of punching his dog, then pulling a knife on a stranger who tried to stop the beating.

Police said Kevin Johnson had been punching his dog and hitting it with a leash near 31st and Sheridan around 5:30 p.m. Friday. Witnesses told police he got mad when they confronted him and threatened one of them with a knife.

Police tracked Johnson down and they said he tried to make a run for it, dragging the dog into traffic behind him. They tased Johnson and arrested him.

Police said the dog didn’t have any visible injuries and is with animal control now. They said the dog was a bulldog named Buddy who stayed friendly and calm. Two people even stopped and offered to adopt him.
