The Tulsa area charter schools are hosting a virtual meet and greet for any family interested Monday evening as a way to show what they are all about while still being COVID-19 cautious.
Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m., Tulsa charter schools are coming together to host a completely virtual fair to showcase what charter options are available to students and parents for the upcoming school year. Anyone wanting to attend can go to tulsacharters.org to register.
There are five schools participating in the fair and there will be virtual breakout rooms for each once you get into the meeting. The schools involved are Tulsa Honor Academy, College Bound Academy, Collegiate Hall, Tulsa Legacy, and KIPP Tulsa.
“Each Tulsa-area charter school is on a mission to ensure students attend college or secondary education,” said Eric Doss, Director of Quality Charter Services at Oklahoma Public School Resource Center.“
Charter schools customize programs and enhance curriculum while also recognizing the unique community environment in which these students live and prosper.”
Amanda Yuen with Tulsa Honor Academy says the pandemic has made it hard to do outreach but she thinks this event will help people get their questions answered.
“We are wanting to offer this one-stop-shop as a way for our families to meet school leaders, ask questions, and get help filling out the application before the application deadline approaches,” Yuen said.
The deadline to get in your child’s charter school application is this coming Friday, Feb. 12.
