Here are six things to know before you set your alarm for Thursday.
.WHAT’S NEXT? Governor Kevin Stitt and state officials will announce the next steps in the vaccine plan Thursday. The new conference is at 11 a.m. and you can watch it live on News On 6 and your News On 6 app.
.YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED: The Tulsa Health Department will answer questions about the vaccine and prevention at 3 p.m. That was supposed to happen Wednesday, but the Health Department was closed due to weather.
.CRITICAL NEED: The Oklahoma Blood Institute said it has less than a one-day supply, calling it a blood emergency. The pandemic and now the weather caused a drop in donations. There are two drives Thursday: at TU from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or the YMCA in Bixby from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
.CALLING NATURE LOVERS: There’s a volunteer rendezvous Thursday. If you love nature and the outdoors, you can learn about volunteering for Tulsa Parks. There’s an in-person recruiting event at Oxley Nature Center at 10 a.m. or you can join virtually at the Tulsa Parks Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/TulsaParks/
.FOR A GOOD CAUSE: You can help animals and enjoy some good burgers and beer. It’s Dine to Donate night at Smitty’s Garage. 10% of in-person, online or delivery orders will go to the animal rescue foundation of Tulsa.
.DRIVE SAFE: A reminder that Tulsa city crews will be out again at midnight, clearing roads, so give them plenty of space. When driving, give yourself plenty of time to get where you need to be in the morning.
