Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a Green Country mom – with a blended family made up of seven kids – published a book all about love.
This is a story about belonging, a story about finding your path again when life takes you somewhere you didn't plan to go.
"Love is in ordinary everyday things," said Courtney Wilson's husband Brian Wilson. "She lost the love of her life, her children's father very young, but there she was- she was showing up every single day."
Making the unexpected places beautiful - that is what the Wilson Family has done.
"I have three kiddos from a previous relationship. My husband has two from a previous marriage. We have little Bug that we adopted and then we have baby Joshua," said Courtney.
This family has been built on love over and over again, and in the middle of raising seven kids and chasing her career goals, Courtney decided to write a book about it.
"Just like we would curl up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of coffee. I hope that the book can be that for children who are in foster care and really children and families all around," said Courtney.
She wanted to write a book that would help kids understand what love is, that would help her adopted daughter know that she belongs, that would help her kids find their new place in their big, blended, family and know that they are just as loved as ever.
"I see determination. I see our family. I see what hard work will get you if you hang in there," said Courtney.
"It just reminds me of how far our family has come and just being able to show everyone that we made it," said Brian.
You can find the book, “Does Love Have A Home,” here.
