Many people in Rogers County have been left with little to no water for several days. The plant supervisor for Oologah and Talala said they have faced one problem after another.
Those freezing temperatures brought issues to places like Talala, leaving thousands of customers with low water pressure or no water at all.
Dawn Orwig said it's been days since she's showered, done dishes or washed her clothes because the water pressure has been so low.
"It's been a major problem," Orwig said.
Almost everyone in Rogers County Rural water district four has been in the same situation. Now, Orwig said neighbors are starting to get creative with how they're dealing with the shortage.
"She said she'll have to melt snow just to wash her hair," said Orwig.
At the District 4 office in Oologah, phones are ringing off the hook, and people have questions.
“Right now, it's very low so some customers have low or no water,” Cox said.
Plant supervisor Jeremy Cox said the trouble started Sunday with pumps going down, then a filter problem, and on Tuesday, a leak in their biggest feeder line.
"At one point, I would say everyone has been impacted or suffered some sort of water loss," said Cox.
Cox said Thursday, crews made big progress and water is starting to fill up the water system again, but many residents said their faucets are still dry.
"It seems like every day there's been a new issue arising," Cox said.
For now, Cox said it's best to keep conserving water and be patient, as crews work nonstop to fix the problems.
The rural water district said it could take a couple days before everything is back to normal.
