The border between the United States and Canada will remain closed until at least March 21st.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discussed the continued closure in a social media post.
The closure impacts non-essential travel between the two countries; "we’ve extended the measures currently in place at the Canada-US border by another 30 days. Non-essential travel between our two countries remains restricted until at least March 21st, 2021," Prime Minister Trudeau said.
March will mark one year since the border between the United States and Canada closed due the the COVID-19 pandemic.
The border originally closed on March 21, 2020.
