Tulsa Police said a man walking down Highway 169 is in critical condition after being hit by a truck late Tuesday night.
Police told News On 6 the man was walking in the southbound lanes between 41st and 51st. The driver of the truck did not see the man until it was too late, according to Tulsa Police.
They said the victim was dragged for about 30 feet after being hit. He was taken to the hospital and faces life-threatening injuries.
“The male was wearing dark clothing this time of night in the area of where this was,” said Lt. Darren Bristow, Tulsa Police. “It would have been nearly impossible to see him walking.”
The driver of the truck stayed on the scene.
The southbound lanes of Highway 169 were shut down and traffic was diverted onto the Broken Arrow Expressway early Wednesday morning.
