Epic Charter Schools is partnering with OneOK Field in Tulsa and Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City to host in-person, COVID-19 safe graduation ceremonies.
Epic’s class of 2021 includes nearly 4,000 seniors that will get to have a ceremony to celebrate their accomplishments.
“Although our ceremonies this year will be smaller ceremonies, we are going to make them memorable events for our families, who will be able to sit together safely in pods and celebrate this all-important rite of passage,” Epic Superintendent Bart Banfield said.
OneOK Field in Tulsa will host three ceremonies, with a maximum of 450 graduates in order to stay socially distant, on May 27 at 5 p.m., on May 28 at 12 p.m. and on May 28 at 5 p.m.
“We’re excited to host EPIC Charter Schools graduates, along with their families and friends, at ONEOK Field for such a memorable event in their lives,” executive vice president and assistant general manager for Tulsa Drillers Baseball Jason George said. “We know the challenges the students and their families have faced, and we look forward to celebrating with them on this momentous occasion.”
Epic said each graduate will be limited to five guests and each ceremony will be livestreamed. They also said they have backup plans in case of rain or reaching capacity.
