Cade Cunningham Takes Home Award For Top Freshman In College Basketball

OSU guard Cade Cunningham continues to collect the hardware.

Cunningham won the Wayman Tisdale Award Tuesday, given to the top freshman in college basketball. He is the second Cowboy to win the award, joining Marcus Smart in 2013.

Cunningham is also one of four finalists for the 2021 Naismith Trophy and is a finalist for the Bob Cousey Point Guard of the Year Award.

This season, Cunningham was named a first-team AP All-American, a first in Cowboy program history. He was named both the Big 12 Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, only the fourth time both have been awarded to a single player.
