A Tulsa Airbnb has become a vacation space for families who want to travel safely during the pandemic. The couple who owns the house has decorated each room as an art experience they hope each guest feels the second they walk through the door.
"It is all in the details, that is where the magic happens," said artist Matt Moffett.
If you are looking to step into a new world, one full of creative expression, where dreams manifest into realities, a world without a screen in every room and a place where details matter, this is the place for you.
"Who sleeps in a room with a gold leaf ceiling? With an antique 1920 French chandelier that I had imported over, thank God for Etsy," said Moffett.
This is an Airbnb right in Tulsa, that was first John Woodworth’s home before he met and married Moffett.
"We are not really selling a place to stay, we are selling an experience," said Moffett’s husband John Woodworth.
"I want them to feel it is a rejuvenated respite for them. They rest, they relax, they can enjoy details, they can enjoy art," said Moffett.
Woodworth works in hospitality and Moffett is an artist. They're compatible in a way that just works, kind of like each piece of art in this home, just works.
"We try to do a rotation of art, it is like a little museum," said Moffett.
Some of these pieces were created by Moffett, some by students at the Tulsa Girls Art School, some by friends and some by Woodworth. They have a book for guests to write in during their stay.
"Our son had a fabulous time looking at each and every corner of creativity in this house," said one excerpt in the guest book.
In a time where the future is unknown, where the world is pushing through a pandemic, there are places of adventure, imagination and possibility. You might not even have to go far from your own backyard to experience them.
