The family of a woman killed in a DUI crash said they are relieved to finally have justice.
They were heartbroken when Jennifer Holt was killed by a drunk driver in a head on crash. The suspect, Hector Hernandez, pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday.
Hernandez was facing state charges until a Supreme Court ruling on tribal jurisdiction. Since the crime happened within the boundaries of Indian Country, and Holt was Native American, federal authorities took over the case and charged him with second-degree murder.

Holt was killed in November 2019, at 81st and Garnett in Broken Arrow. Hernandez hit another car, then kept going before hitting Holt's car head on. She was on a break from work when it happened.
"We're still struggling with it, and in the future, we'll still struggle because it was completely a senseless death, there was no reason for it" said Sarah Hemphill, Holt's daughter. "I hate that the world lost someone like her, because there's no replacing someone like her, there's no doing it"
Hernandez was taken into custody Thursday after his guilty plea and will face sentencing in June. Prosecutors expect an 11-year sentence in federal prison.
