The Muscogee (Creek) Nation will hold a vaccination event in Checotah on Wednesday on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Appointments are not needed for the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event at the Checotah Sports Complex. All you need to bring is an ID and health insurance card.
Currently, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation will only be giving out the Moderna vaccine. It had recently added the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, but it appears that has been removed after that vaccine was possibly linked to a handful of blot clot cases.

Wednesday's event in Checotah is possible after the Creek Nation Health Department purchased two mobile health units. The hope is that the units will let people in rural and underserved areas have access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
Besides Checotah, the mobile units will visit other towns including Muskogee, Coweta, Bristow, and Holdenville. Just like Wednesday's event, you do not need to schedule an appointment for those.
