Norman Mayor Breea Clark has damage of her own to clean up after Wednesday night’s storms. She said she knows that a lot of other residents in Norman are facing the same clean up.

“Do not be afraid to ask for help,” said Clark. “This is the time when I think the best in us comes out.”

Damage could be seen all though the city. Many homes had to be patched up, windows boarded on businesses and car windows covered.

“When the ice was hitting the house and stuff real big everything got real bad, I came out at three this morning and that is what we saw,” said Kim Richards, who’s rear windshield was blown out.

The storm also took a toll on her trees in the front yard, but she said all of the branches that fell missed her home and she was thankful for that.

Kim’s story is that of many residents across the city who are left to clean up debris.

The storm also caused multiple road closures due to flooding.

First responders were also extremely busy Wednesday night. Norman police received 168 calls to 911 and 157 calls to the departments non-emergency line.

Thankfully though Norman Regional hospital only treated two patients – for minor injuries from the storm.

If you have storm damage and need to report it, you can do that at www.damage.ok.gov or call (405) 329-0528.
