A Tulsa county jury finds a man guilty of shooting and killing his life-long best friend, then dumping his body in a ditch near Turley in 2019.

The jury spent less than two hours deliberating and recommend Morgan go to prison for life.

Morgan has been convicted in the death of 43-year-old Bryant Hampton, who officials said was found dead on the side of the read near Turley in March 2019.

Prosecutors argued Morgan and Hampton were in the car together when Morgan did the shooting.

They argued surveillance video from two different businesses showed Hampton, Morgan and another man together the night of the murder.

Witnesses testified the day after the shooting, Morgan was trying to get rid of the SUV. Prosecutors said after the shooting, Morgan left the area to stay with a distant relative.

Prosecutors told the jury when you act guilty, you are guilty.

Morgan's attorney argued there was no physical or forensic evidence to prove Morgan was the shooter or even involved. They also argued since the gun was never found, you can't prove Morgan pulled the trigger.

The victim's wife said it was a special day.

"It's been a long time coming. He was buried two years ago today., so we got justice today," Ebony Hampton said.

"There are few cases as satisfying as this one because it was so difficult," Prosecutor Mark Collier said.

Morgan was also found guilty of having a gun as a felon. Morgan's attorneys didn't wish to comment.
