A Tulsa couple getting married this weekend is asking guests to bring donations for the homeless instead of gifts. They want to donate to Night Light Tulsa, a non-profit who feeds and provides for the homeless every week.
"I knew that I loved Katherine from very early on," said Byrun Ratliff.
Byrun and Katherine Price's story started in high school.
It took years for the two to realize they had a thing for each other. After their first date, it didn't take them long to feel like they'd found their person.
They are getting married this Sunday.
"We both wrote our vows today. My vows aren't done, his are," said Katherine. "I don't feel like it is really happening, and it won't feel like that until I actually get there and put on the dress."
Instead of wedding gifts, Byrun and Katherine are asking their guests to bring donations for Tulsa's homeless.
"We have just always been really blessed and taken care of with that sort of thing so, Katherine has been buying stuff for our house for a long time," said Byrun.
They said they understand how great it would be to start their new house with everything on their wish list, but said they have all they need and know that there are people in their own community who can't say the same.
The donations are going to The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma, a nonprofit Byrun's best man volunteers for.
"We know we are taken care of," said Byrun.
