Multiagency Pursuit Started With Attempted Check Fraud, Officers Say

A man is behind bars after Sand Springs Police said he tried cashing a bad check then led officers on a chase in a stolen car.

It started Friday afternoon at a Bank of Oklahoma branch in Sand Springs. Police said the suspect took off, leading police on a chase that ended near Pine and Harvard in Tulsa.

“Speeds were low, more often than not, sometimes it picked up and went faster in open areas, but slow and that’s the only reason we continued,” Sand Springs Lieutenant Eric Kimura said.

Officers said the car the suspect was driving was reported stolen out of Arkansas.
