Tee times and pairings are set for the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship on Thursday. More than 1,000 people have signed-up to volunteer for the event.

Tournament director Bryan Karns said the response from people interested to get involved has been huge. About 1,300 people are helping out at Southern Hills this week in a variety of ways, from holding signs to working concessions.

Those who were not selected to help with the Senior PGA are being put on a list to help with next year’s PGA Championship, which also takes place at Southern Hills. Karns said many of the volunteers have helped out before and are ready to experience history once again.

“They remember where they were when Nick Price won, or Tiger won, when Ray Floyd won, so there’s a cool historical component to being in a community like Tulsa,” said Karns. “They remember how big these events are and they get excited when they’re coming back.”

Karns said they will need three times as many volunteers for next year’s event.
