Neighbors React To Shooting, Car Crash At Busy Tulsa Intersection

Neighbors were shocked and scared to see a shooting and car crash that played out in a busy Tulsa intersection on Thursday.

People who live near the scene of a shooting and car crash that played out in a busy Tulsa intersection, say they're shocked and scared to see this happen so close to their home.

Taylor McCarthy lives only feet from where a driver opened fire on another car in the middle of the day.

"I don’t like it I don’t like it at all, and I don’t like to be scared that my kids can’t play in their yard," said McCarthy.

McCarthy says she is scared after what happened yesterday especially because her 6-year-old daughter could have been playing in their yard which is just a few hundred feet from this intersection where the shooting happened.

Police say they are still looking for the suspect and person who was shot at on Thursday afternoon. Investigators say someone driving a white Dodge Durango pulled up to the stoplight at Apache and Peoria and fired a gunshot at the driver of a tan car.

Police say the driver of the car then hit the gas trying to get away and crashed into a Jeep Liberty, causing it to spin out and eventually rollover. Three kids were inside that jeep and all of them were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Taylor McCarthy says that kind of violence isn't normal in this neighborhood and she's just thankful her daughter Delaney wasn't outside.

"My kids could've been out here playing mean anything could've went slightly different and it could've been a much more tragic story."
