As cases of the coronavirus fall among the general population, the number of children getting COVID-19 is rising.
Doctors say children now make up nearly 25% of new COVID-19 cases.
The Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City told News On 6 that they have seen more children with the virus than any other age group.
Dr. Dale Bratzker From OU Health said, "Nationwide what we're seeing is most of the new covid cases are happening in people who are not vaccinated and children below the age of 12 are not eligible for the vaccine."
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, 14% of COVID-19 cases throughout the pandemic have been in children.
