A judge refused to give bond to a former Morris teacher charged with sexually assaulting two of his students.

Dallas Ewton is charged with several sex crimes dating back to 2012.

Ewton, who taught math at Morris High School, faces several charges accusing him of sexually assaulting at least two of his previous students.

The allegations came to light this spring after a student came forward to the FBI.

Court documents said the girl said Ewton started sexually assaulting her when she was 11 in 6th grade.

She told the FBI the assaults happened every day, unless she wasn’t at school, and happened both in the classroom and in after school tutoring sessions.

Documents said the FBI also interviewed Ewton’s ex-wife who said he and that student would text each other.

Prosecutors said in court Wednesday, Ewton messaged one victim 12,000 times.

Court documents also said Ewton inappropriately touched another girl during the 2019-2020 school year.

Prosecutors said 13 additional students have come forward to assist in the investigation. Prosecutors said they expect a grand jury will present a 17-count indictment soon, that includes witness tampering.

The FBI is asking any additional victims to call 918-687-7500.

Ewton’s attorney declined to comment about the case on Wednesday.
