Tulsa Public Schools has announced their policies to keep students and staff safe ahead of the in-person start of the school year.

On Monday, TPS said they expect all staff and students to wear a mask at all times, indoors and outdoors, when around others. They said this expectation applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status.

TPS said masks will still be required on school buses, as is required by the CDC, and keeping other safety protocols in place, such as handwashing, cleaning, and rapid COVID-19 testing.

TPS said that they are monitoring the COVID-19 Delta variant closely and will continue to work with the Tulsa Health Department.

The district encourages all students 12 and older to get vaccinated against COVID-19, noting that the vaccine is not available to the approximately 17,200 children in the district that are under the age of 12.
