Union’s Kayveonna Jackson constantly has her mind on the track.
She’s been to two junior Olympics, but that’s not all. Running, for Jackson, is a form of escape.
It’s something Jackson has used to cope after her mother was murdered when she was just five years old.
“I’m running for her,” Jackson said. “I feel like it would make her happy to see me out here doing well at something and succeeding at something.”
And big things are happening on the track for Jackson.
