Glenpool Father, Son Offer Opportunity To OU Football Fans Who Have Never Been To A Game

A Tulsa father and son have been to more than 115 OU Football games, covering 39 states in the last nine years, but now they want to share their passion and experience with others who have never been to a game.

Being at an OU Football game is a second home for Bill and JT Kauffman of Glenpool. This year, they will be bringing along two guests to every home game, for free.

"It's a passion. Some people go hunting or fishing, some hit the golf course, OU football is ours. It is a legitimate happy place for us,” said Bill.

If you've ever watched an OU Football game on TV or been in person, chances are you've seen Bill and JT in the crowd or on the screen. They wear creative outfits each game to support a specific player or coach. From hard hats and constructions vests, to suit and ties, and this year it’s snakeskin boots and vests to support Sooner quarterback Spencer Rattler.

"It turned into a tradition, my son would pick a player, we would come up with creative ways to support them. To show love in our own ways,” said Bill.

The players and coaches have taken notice. Bill and JT are very well known within the OU football program.

"When the head coach of the team knows you by name and you are just a fan, not one of his players, that says something. He recognizes our love and our passion,” said Bill.

Bill says he's always wanted to be able to share this passion with others who maybe couldn't afford to go, they have a medical condition, or maybe they live too far away. So, this year they will be bringing along two guests to every home game. If you love the Sooners but have never been to a game, all you have to do is write a letter to Bill and JT.

"I want to read your thoughts and feelings and that's what we are going to do. As you write the letter, tell us who your favorite player is, maybe a favorite game, maybe why you haven't been able to attend a game,” said Bill.

It won't just be two free tickets to the game, there will be other gifts along the way like custom shirts and hats.

Bill says JT has done more as a kid than most grown men or women can even dream about. He says it is important to teach JT to always pay it forward.

"It makes me feel good to give back. From the experiences I've had, I've always wanted to be a part of something like this,” said JT.

"JT is going to be the host,” said Bill. “Once we enter the stadium, it's going to be all on his shoulders, to make sure they are well taken care of. We can't make any promises other than a really good time, period"

We can't share where the seats will be because it will be a surprise for the guests. Bill and JT will be doing their first drawing the week of September 1st.
