A little girl with COVID-19 who was struggling to breathe Wednesday has now improved enough to be moved out of intensive care.

Three-year-old Aurora Cannon was moved to a regular hospital room Saturday at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis.

Aurora’s Mom, Amelia, a Registered Nurse at Saint Francis, said “We are leaving the ICU and going to a regular floor today!! There is still the process of weaning her off of oxygen completely before we get to go home. But we now see the light at the end of the tunnel, whereas yesterday, it was all darkness. THANK YOU everyone for your love and support. We are speechless.”

Cannon said her daughter was eating popsicles Saturday, but still using oxygen. Amelia and Aurora got sick with COVID-19 on the same day. Amelia’s husband also contracted COVID, but only Aurora had severe symptoms.
