The Muskogee County Sheriff's Office says it is giving antibody infusions to some of the inmates who have contracted COVID-19.

Muskogee County EMS alongside St. Francis have treated at least 30 inmates who had tested positive for the virus.

The whole focus on this was to try and keep the inmates in the jail instead of transporting them to the hospital," said Muskogee County EMS Director Laurel Havens. "There were a lot of hospitals with no bed availability, so this was a proactive approach by St. Francis."

According to the sheriff's office, more than a hundred inmates have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past week.
