The Ketchum community has direct access to vaccines and resources thanks to the Oklahoma State Department of Health Mobile Unit.
They said this is their way of doing something good for families who might not have regular access to medical care.
"We know a lot of folks around here who need help," said Tommy Pameticky with TnT Insurance Group Inc.
In the parking lot of TnT Insurance Group in Ketchum, you will find a new kind of community resource.
"We have vaccines that we carry with us, not just COVID vaccines but childhood immunizations, adult immunizations, and then this is our clinic space," said Ashley Roberts with Oklahoma State Department of Health.
The bus won't be there permanently, it travels through District 4, serving Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Ottawa, Rogers, Wagoner, and Washington Counties.
"People are starting to hear about us and we want them to feel comfortable and welcome to come," said Cody Villanueva with Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Employees said they are hoping to find areas where people don't have regular access to medical care like the mobile health unit and camp out and serve the community for a day.
Pameticky and his wife Tammy said it was a no-brainer to offer their parking lot to the Oklahoma State Department of Health to park the mobile site for the day.
Families can stop by the mobile site locations and get COVID-19 shots or other vaccines, school/sport physicals, or get wellness checkups. There will be an updated calendar with future dates, times, and locations on the Oklahoma State Department of Health social media pages.
"Today is a small step in the right direction," said Villanueva.
