German food, drinks and fun will soon be back at River West Festival Park for Tulsa's Oktoberfest.

This is the first time the festival is back since the pandemic, and organizers said they've never been more ready.

"Standing here at the festival park just brings it all back, it's been since 2019 of course, and everyone is just so excited," festival director Tonja Carrigg said.

Carrigg said everyone from volunteers to people attending are anxiously awaiting the start of Oktoberfest.

"I think we really realized how important Oktoberfest is, in Tulsa, just to the community, so to bring them all together again and hear people calling out, hey is it happening, when is it happening, we are definitely there, that just enthuses us so much," she said.

Carrigg said there are a few changes to the festival this year.

Credit cards will now be accepted, and shuttle service and ride shares will be available for everyone attending because parking is not available near festival park.

All tickets must be purchased ahead of time online.

"Advanced ticketing must happen. You can go ahead and do that now, you can do that as you are coming to the festival, and you'll have your ticket ready to be scanned as you walk through the gate," Carrigg said.

The festival encourages wearing a mask and will have hand sanitizer stations set up throughout the area.

Oktoberfest will be at River West Festival Park from October 21 through October 24.
