Ray Welch says he has three broken ribs, a broken foot and bruises all over his body. Tulsa Police say a 16-year-old got mad when he couldn't merge onto the highway later causing him to hit 58-Year-Old Ray Welch who was on his motorcycle at the time.

Welch is out of work right now and says he's in a lot of pain.

“He said I had multiple bones broken in my foot and that’s the problem that’s the foot I push my clutch within my truck and I can’t work," said Welch.

Ray Welch's friend spent the day building him a ramp to get in and out of his home.

“I can’t stand up, I can’t walk, I’d rather walk and just shake this off and go back to normal,” said Welch.

Right now Welch can barely get out of his recliner after Tulsa Police say a 16-Year-Old boy crashed into Welch’s motorcycle on Monday.

"I never heard nothing, next thing I knew I was in the hospital," said Welch.

Tulsa Police say the teen was trying to merge Highway 169 and wasn't happy another driver wouldn't let him over.

"He got upset threw a water bottle at her car she went behind him to write his tag number down,” said Tulsa Police Sgt. Brian Collum.

Officers say the boy sped up and was driving down the center lane of 61st Street before hitting Welch, who was trying to turn left.

A family friend of the teen told News on 6 the boy was scared because the woman was following him.

Police say the teen stayed with Welch until paramedics arrived

"He kept asking is he okay, is the man going to be okay, is he going to live,” said a family friend of the 16-Year-Old.

Welch has three broken ribs, a broken foot, a broken thumb, a black eye, bruises, and road rash all over his body.

“I've never experienced pain like this," said Welch.

Welch was on his way to pick up a part for his truck when he was hit. He's self-employed and doctors told him he'd be out of work for at least 6 to 8 weeks.

"I have a load on my truck,” said Welch. “It's sitting there loaded and I can’t deliver it."

Step by step, friends are helping Ray get back on his feet, but in the meantime, he hopes people will be more careful while driving, so no one else gets hurt.

“I’ve rode motorcycles my whole life and I’ve had nothing like this,” said Welch. "People need to be held responsible for their actions and they need to be held accountable for what they do.”

Police gave the teenager three tickets, one for reckless driving, another for driving alone in a car with only a permit, not a license, and a third ticket for throwing an object from a moving vehicle.
