It may feel like something less than a win, but the Sooners got out of Lawrence Saturday with a victory.
Oklahoma faces the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday.
"Things tend to kind of work themselves out. We've had 8 chances, we've done it 8 times, we've got the longest winning streak in the country. Sky is not falling. Don't write us off just yet," Lincoln Riley said.
Lincoln Riley is trying to keep things in perspective. Yes Oklahoma is still unbeaten. And yes all of the goals for the Sooners are still attainable. But you can't ignore Kansas. Perhaps the worst power 5 team in college football gave the Sooners a lot of problems Saturday.
I left the Kansas game the other day probably like a lot of people disappointed with how we played defensively, particularly in the first half. I get on the plane, flying home, watching it, calmer head, emotions have run their course. Look at it saying, gosh damn we're close," Riley said.
Riley said the errors made by the defense he feels "are very correctable". Getting some injured starters back will also help and speaking of that, Riley said he expects defensive tackle Jalen Redmond to be available this Saturday against Texas Tech. He's missed the last 5 games.
