Many of us are looking forward to Thanksgiving, but some families said they're re-thinking travel plans because of the high gas prices.

California set a record high with gas prices at nearly $4.70.

Drivers in every state are paying more at the pump, the current national average is more than $3.40.

Gas-Buddy said the average price for a gallon of gas is $2.96. Senators held a hearing on Tuesday about why energy prices are going up.

Energy Economists said global spending on clean energy is expected to pick up, but remains far short of what's needed to meet the demand.

Production is expected to lag behind demand for the next year, meaning the higher prices could be here for awhile.
