The City of Broken Arrow created an interactive map where folks can drive by houses that are lit up for Christmas.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Broken Arrow but at the Slankard's decorating started in September.

“It becomes 10 to 12 hour days, seven days a week. None of my Church friends see me for all of November. We get calls, letters, but they know where I'm at,” said Robert Slankard.

Robert Slankard and his wife Lori have spent three decades decking the halls together.

"This is our 25th Christmas here and then our 31st Christmas overall,” said Robert.

The display includes over 100,000 lights, about 350 Christmas statues, and at least 300 other holiday decorations.

The Slankards love vintage decorations and spent a lot of time at garage sales and estate sales.

"It was a lot easier probably 10 years ago before it sadly became a collector item. I hate that because now the stuff I used to pick up in garage sales for next to nothing you pay through the nose in an antique shop,” said Slankard.

Their house has everything from nativity scenes to Santa's workshop.

"On the other side of the lot we have kind of a salute to Broken Arrow,” said Robert.

While taking a trip down memory lane you'll find the old Ben Franklin store, a replica of the BA Train Station and the 51-drive in movie theatre.

The Slankard’s home is one of 37 places featured on the city of Broken Arrow's 'holiday lights displays' map.

"This is one of those things that we can do to make the holiday season a little bit better and to make going out and seeing holiday lights maybe a little bit more efficient,” said Aaron McCollough, City of BA.

Robert said his lights come on each night at sunset and shut off around 11.

“I like to say it's spec-crap-tacular,” said Robert.

The Slankard's are collecting cash and canned good donations for BA Neighbors.
