The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) confirmed that a plane crash resulted in at least one fatality.

The crash happened in a field near State Highway 88 and East 560 Road in Rogers County around 10:50 Sunday morning, according to the OHP.

The plane was a Cessna 310 twin engine from Okmulgee. A pilot from North Carolina flew the plane from Tulsa, got fuel and began flying eastbound at an approximate 5,800 feet elevation.

Around 10 miles south of the Claremore airport, the plane made a left turn and began descending.

The Federal Aviation Administration is on its way to the scene to investigate the crash.

This is a developing story.
