Tulsa Police Cancel Silver Alert, 74-Year-Old Man Found Safe

UPDATE (2:48 p.m., Feb. 6, 2022): Tulsa police canceled a Silver Alert for 74-year-old Fred Welch.

Authorities said Welch found his way back home safely.

A Silver Alert was issued Sunday for a missing 74-year-old man.

Tulsa police said Fred Welch went missing between midnight and 1 a.m. Sunday near South Sheridan Road and East 61st Street.

Welch is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, has gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a yellow jacket, a dark green shirt and blue jeans.

Police are considering Welch missing and endangered because of his physical condition and the current weather.
