Law Firm Announces Move To New High-Rise Office Building In Tulsa

Work is ongoing to bring tenants to the inside of a new 11 story high-rise office building in Tulsa.

On February 14, the law firm Crowe & Dunlevy announced it’s reached an agreement to move their Tulsa offices to the building at 222 North Detroit. The building is under construction in Tulsa's Arts district.

Mac Rosser is a shareholder director for the firm and said they've been exploring moving to downtown locations for some time.

"The practice of law has changed a lot,” said Rosser. “It's not as much top down partner, associate, it's more a collaboration. More people working together so we were looking at possibly moving and looked at several different locations and that building was one of them."

The firm will take up the entire sixth floor, which will include a centralized work cafe and two outdoor terraces.

The move comes as a commercial real estate firm works to lease out the space.

WPX Energy originally designed the tower for its new headquarters.

However, early last year during construction, WPX Energy announced a merger with Devon Energy and a move of offices to Oklahoma City.

WPX committed to finish the building as designed.

"They did the right thing,” said Rosser. “They finished it the way they had planned to finish it. They could have made some shortcuts, they could have made it smaller, but they didn't do that."

The firm leasing it out said there's been a lot of interest, but so far Crowe & Dunlevy are the first to sign the paperwork to move in.

"I think there's no doubt that we'll fill up," said Rosser.

The law firm will move into the building in September, The building should be completely finished by October.
