Delays Likely For Drivers As Owasso Road Widening Project Begins

The City of Owasso is scheduled to start the next phase of expansion at the intersection of 116th and Garnett on Monday. Disruptions and delays are expected for drivers who travel in the area.

One-lane traffic, no controlled lefthand turns and traffic lights replaced with stop signs are some of the disruptions as the widening project gets underway. Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes.

Access to businesses in the area of the intersection will still be available, according to the city. This expansion of the street is the next phase of projects on 116th Street after crews recently finished widening the area near Highway 169.

The city says the project should be finished in August.
