Warm temperatures return on Friday before a round of showers and storms move into the area.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:
After a frosty start, temperatures will climb to the upper 60s with sunshine early and clouds arriving Friday afternoon ahead of a fast-moving storm system bringing showers and storms into the area Friday night. The system is not anticipated to be a severe weather maker for our part of the state. A few scattered showers and some rumbles of thunder will be likely for some this evening, overnight, and exiting early Saturday morning.
Saturday morning starts with temperatures mostly in the mid-40s with decreasing clouds. Mostly sunny and pleasant weather is anticipated Saturday with afternoon highs in the upper 60s near 70 with north winds at 10 to 20 mph. Sunday features gusty south winds by midday through the afternoon with afternoon highs reaching the mid-70s. Our next storm system approaches the area Sunday night into early Monday morning with increasing rain and thunder chances across the area.
By early next week, a complex weather pattern will evolve across the southern plains. The result will be shower and storm chances Monday into early Tuesday, including the potential for locally heavy rainfall, and possibly a few strong to severe storms. Data remains inconsistent regarding the placement of important surface features, including the positioning of a cold front. If the front is more progressive, higher chances for impactful rain and storms will remain across the southern half of the area. If the boundary stalls, greater impacts would remain across most of the area. At this point in the forecast cycle, shower and storm chances will remain high for Monday area-wide. Early Tuesday, the system will be exiting the area. A fast-developing cold front moves into the area early Wednesday morning with a slight chance for showers, followed by north winds and temperatures in the 60s. This brings another chilly air mass into the area by the end of next week with daytime highs Thursday potentially staying in the mid to upper 50s.
Thanks for reading the Friday morning weather discussion and blog.
Have a super great day!
