Green Country business owners are concerned about high gas prices, especially as we head into the busy summer months. Tyson Lindsey owns URIDE, a luxury transportation service he started right before the pandemic. He said gas prices are hitting local businesses hard.

“Well, it has definitely caused an increase somewhat in our pricing. We jumped probably anywhere between 50 cents to a dollar per mile with transportation," said Lindsey.
He said surviving during COVID-19 was a battle, and now, this.
“With the increase in fuel on our drivers that’s definitely taken a hit of being able to pay them based on the influx of fuel to be able to compensate what they’re losing in fuel. A lot of it comes from the company and kind of works its way down," said Lindsey.
Gas prices have doubled since he started the business, which means he's now spending up to $800 a week on gas and it's affecting all transportation businesses. “He’s seeing an increase in fuel, you know, anywhere between 80 something dollars a day onward up to $105 or $108 increase per day," said Lindsey.
The good news is business is also increasing. Some days he's doing four times as many trips to the airport than just six months ago. “I think now people are kind of getting the urge to get out and travel more," said Lindsey.
