Warm Temps Stick Around Before A Weekend Cold Front

Warm temperatures stick around under mostly sunny skies on Thursday.

Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone:

Near normal conditions will remain on Thursday with slightly above normal highs Friday and Saturday before a cold front enters the area late Saturday night and Sunday morning. This system brings a small mention for a few showers or storms early Sunday along with slightly cooler and drier air for a few days early next week. The pattern more than likely returns with above normal temps again by the middle to end of next week. No significant precipitation chances will be in the forecast for the foreseeable future, other than some low chances with the late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning boundary.

Slightly drier air has moved across eastern Oklahoma allowing temps Thursday morning into the lower to mid-60s. A few sheltered or valley locations may briefly reach the upper 50s at sunrise with afternoon highs moving into the upper 80s to lower 90s with mostly sunny conditions. Northeast winds this morning will back from the southeast later Thursday with speeds from 10 to 15 mph. South winds will continue Friday and Saturday ahead of the front nearing the state late Saturday evening. Higher chances for showers and storms will remain across northwestern Oklahoma into southcentral Kansas late Saturday evening, but as the system moves across northeastern Oklahoma early Sunday morning, precipitation chances are expected to dwindle as drier air enters the region. This airmass will support Monday morning temps in the 50s for most locations with afternoon highs Monday in the mid-80s.
