It's day two of the Tulsa State Fair and there's all kinds of unique foods to try.

Fairs are known to have wacky food options, but some of the foods at the Tulsa State Fair aren't just unique, they are award winning.

You can count on deep-fried favorites like corn dogs and funnel cakes or try something completely over-the-top.

"Alligator on a stick, Shark on a stick, Chicken on a Stick and then our deep-fried cheese on a stick," Food Vendor Trena Vazquez said.

Rick's Pizza's famous Pickle Pizza has gotten national awards.

Tristin Ukmar with Rick's Pizza said this pizza is one of the company's best sellers and was a passion project for him.

"Took a good three or four months of trial and error and we came up with this," Ukmar said.

Ukmar said on a busy weekend, his pizza stand generates thousands of dollars in sales.

Vazquez said it can also get pretty hectic at her stand.

"The lines are pretty much almost endless," Vazquez said. "So, it's like, stop, take a drink of water....you know it's that busy."

Both Ukmar and Vazquez said the best part isn't the awards, or even how wacky the food can be, it's the smiles they see when people take their first bite of something new.

"The awards are one thing," Ukmar said. "It's cool the recognition.....but you know it's more the people coming back the two, three, four times during the fair to get five or six slices."

"The customers coming back from last year or the year before saying, I just could not wait for the Gyros," said Vazquez.

You can expect to wait in line quite a while to enjoy the unique eats, especially on busier days.
