Winds are howling across Green Country as one more round of rain and storms moves across the area.
Here are the details from News On 6 Meteorologist Stephen Nehrenz:
A strong area of low pressure is wrapping up across eastern Oklahoma and helping trigger additional showers and storms for the morning hours on Tuesday. Northern counties will see mainly light additional rain totals, but across far eastern and far southeastern Oklahoma heavier storms are expected.
Outside of those storms, it will be a very windy morning, as that area of low pressure produces wind gusts as strong as 40 to 50 miles per hour over a broad area of eastern Oklahoma. By late morning, the low-pressure center moves off to our east, with rain tapering off from west-to-east and winds getting less intense Tuesday afternoon.
Afternoon temperatures will hold in the 50s in far eastern Oklahoma, but recover to the lower 60s from Tulsa to the west where some late-day sunshine returns. Some much lighter winds settle in on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, a nice change of pace after several windy days. Wednesday is set up for some great fall weather with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, highs in the 60s, sunshine, and those light winds!
Thursday will bring some great fall temperatures as well ahead of the next storm system that brings a few more showers and storms to parts of eastern Oklahoma on Friday.
I hope you have a great Tuesday, Green Country!
