The owners of a Tulsa bar are frustrated because someone broke in and stole thousands of dollars worth of alcohol. Cameras inside the bar captured the entire incident on video.
Lynn Robertson and her husband have run Starlite bar near 11th and Utica for five years.
She said cameras caught a man breaking a window with a hammer around 5 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
Once inside, the man grabbed a trash can and filled it with liquor bottles.
“He was very picky about what he took,” said Robertson. “It was definitely more expensive alcohol and [it was] unopened.”
Robertson said replacing the window and alcohol set them back nearly $2,000. She said it hits hard because they are a small business still working to rebound from the pandemic.
Members of the community stepped up to help with the money through an online fundraiser. Robertson said within hours, their goal was met.
“We have some wonderful patrons and friends,” said Robertson. “The little community that surrounds this bar is just amazing."
The owners wanted the video of the incident to be shared in case someone recognizes the man.
Robertson said they plan to beef up their security so something like this doesn’t happen again.
