Tulsa First Responders Assaulted During Medical 911 Response

A patient who was being transported to a mental health facility will instead be booked into jail after an incident Monday afternoon.

Police said a mental health worker pulled over near 21st and Columbia after the patient suffered a possible seizure.

Police said the patient took off his belt and assaulted an officer and emergency workers, and damaged an EMSA vehicle.

The man was taken to the hospital and will be booked on multiple complaints, police said.

The officer was taken to the hospital for a possible broken nose.
