A homicide investigation is underway in Tulsa after an overnight shooting left a man dead, according to police.
Tulsa Police say officers were called to the scene near East 21st Street and South Sheridan Road around 11 p.m. on Wednesday night. Police say the person who called 911, told police that he had allegedly shot his friend out of self-defense.
When officers arrived on the scene, they say they found a man with a gunshot wound to his chest.
According to police, the person who allegedly shot the man was cooperative with officers and was taken to the detective division to be interviewed.
The man who suffered the gunshot wound was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Officers say it is still unclear what led up to the shooting.
