TU students will be able to use their dining bucks at Mother Road Market throughout the year. Some of the students said they're looking forward to the extra food options.
TU student Freddy Ward said he's excited about this partnership because Mother Road is one of his favorite places and sometimes, he needs a break from the on-campus food.
"This is a place that my friends and I always come to. I have some friends who are even from out of town, whenever they come to visit Tulsa, they're always like 'let’s go to Mother Road Market' and all of that. So now for me to have even more of an excuse to come here, be able to use my gold dollar here is awesome," Ward said.
The partnership allows students to use their Hurricane Gold Dollars at the food hall.
Mona Chamberlin, with TU communications, said this new partnership supports local businesses and helps get students engaged in the community.
"This is a favorite spot for a lot of our students. They told us they really love Mother Road Market. They hang out here in the evening and on the weekends. Now they can come here for lunch or for dinner any time they want and all they have to do is swipe their card," Chamberlin said.
Mother Road Market said it’s excited to welcome the students.
TU student Garrett Boring said he makes a trip to Mother Road Market at least once a week with friends or even to grab a bite while he studies.
"I don't feel like there's a ton of dining options on campus, so now I can just walk over here whenever I want and have a ton of selections,” Boring said.
Students got to come and test everything out for the first time on Tuesday.
